My Summer 2009 Pics

Okay, so here are some of the shots I took on Sunday...

At first the boys had absolutely no interest in having their picture taken. Here is Austin hiding beneath the blanket. I had to trick him by telling him I wasn't actually taking a picture. I think he forgave me for my deception though.

A.J. was cooperative, but would do nothing but scrunch his face and close his eyes as you can see.

I don't know how many trips there were to the dollar store, but by Sunday, the boys were the most heavily armed kids in the neighborhood.

Here, Austin convinced A.J. that there was a bird's nest up in the tree in front of Grandma and Grandpa's house. I don't know if A.J. wanted to shoot at it, or defend it from Austin...

Finally, I hadn't flexed my photoshop muscles in awhile, so I took some of the better pics and spiced them up a bit. See what you think...

Dave Wins a Race! (sort of)

Here's Dave.. he ran a 5k today!! For you dumbbells, it's just over 3 miles (I Googled it).

Here's me and the kid with Dave. We woke up at 6:30am on a Sunday for this. Is there a prize for that?

Ok, time to get serious!

The competition. Don't bother to blow this up and look for Dave. He's all the way in the back.

About halfway and still smiling.

This is an AMAZING finish time! Too bad for Dave that this wasn't HIS finish time . The actual winner was a kid that finished in 17 min 1 sec (then said kid fell over and started throwing up all over- gross).

Dave... at the finish line, sort of.

Ok, here's the video of the big finish. Dave's in a blue shirt and white shorts. He finished in a respectable 29 minutes 46 seconds.

And now you're all asking, well HOW did he 'sort of' win this race? Well, he won because he's special... ok?

Team work

The Haunted Hotel

For some reason this morning, the boys decided to get out all the old, big Legos. They each built a tower independently and then decided to connect the two. It is a haunted hotel with a black hole down the center.

Update on Nathan

The first day or so that the boys were gone, Nathan was a bit sad. He's mostly recovered from the change, but I can tell that he still gets bored and wants someone cooler than me to to play with.

This past weekend, we took him to a nearby farmers market. All the fun was playing on the little stage with a couple of other kids that were doing the same.

I can't believe how grown up he's getting.

Last weekend we went to the zoo. It appears to us that Nathan's favorite thing to do at the zoo is touch the stingrays.

Here he is checking out a snake.

And, of course, it's always fun to go into the aquarium where the manatees, turtles, and fish come right up to the glass to look at you!

July 4th...day at the movie and arcade...

They seemed to like the movie, "UP" but they really liked the arcade and picking out crappy little prizes with their tickets. They've been VERY good although right before bedtime they get a little wild. Both are eating well! Papa is giving them their night snack right now.
