Can't wait to see everybody at Christmas!!  Presents, cookie baking, good food, all the decorations and family.  Who could ask for more!!!

Storybook Parade

Here are some pictures of the Storybook Parade, where kids dress up as characters from books they've chosen.  It just so happened that the Storybook Parade was on Halloween, and many of the kids dressed up as the same characters later in the evening for trick-or-treating.  I've always appreciated the school's willingness to give the kids a Halloween party without calling it that AND tying the event to reading, thus negating the efforts of the narrow-minded mouth-breathers who would otherwise complain about celebrating Halloween.

Pumpkin Patch!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to a really cool pumpkin patch up in Hernando County (about a half hour from where we live.)  It was on a farm with haystacks and a corn maze.  It was a gorgeous day, and we got some really good pictures of the kids.

Look What I Found

So I thought maybe the boys would get a kick out of this.  I did not take this picture, but this is what I came across tonight just outside my front door:

I looked it up and found out it is a "ringed salamander".  Apparently they are endangered and rare, and seeing one is quite uncommon.  This is actually the second sighting I've had of one of these.  The first time, a few years ago, it got into my apartment!  I just scooped it up with a plastic cup and set it free outside.  They are shy, reclusive, and non-poisonous.   Nature can be fun!  Except for gators.  And wasps and hornets.  And spiders are kind of creepy too.  And I'm sick of moths.  And mosquitoes.  Never mind, nature sucks.

So the boys haven't done anything picture worthy since the first day of school?????   What about Nate and Dave's soccer practices?

Thank you to Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Mike and the boys for such a wonderful trip!!  It was so much fun getting to see everybody and we had so much fun!   Can't wait till Christmas!  Already have new ideas for cookies......get ready Santa!
